Sky Vision, the production and distribution arm of Sky, has acquired the fourth season of the robot fighting hit series BattleBots, it was announced today.
The deal was agreed with BattleBots Inc. and Whalerock Studios LLC; Sky Vision will represent the title in all territories excluding the USA.
BattleBots sees some of the world’s strongest robots, built by enthusiastic amateurs, battle against each other in a knockout tournament until one champion wins the coveted Giant Nut. Featuring competitors from all over the world, it has proved a huge hit for ABC, Discovery Channel and Science Channel in the US and has viewers of all ages hooked.
The robotic show has all the thrills and edge-of-your-seat tension of a major sporting tournament, combined with the latest in robot engineering and larger-than-life inventors.
Sky Vision has been lining up international deals for BattleBots over the last three years and has sold the first three series to broadcasters in more than 150 territories, including Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Turkey, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Latin America and Asia.

The 2019 season of BattleBots premieres in the US on Discovery on June 7th and Science Channel on June 12th.
